Joyful Mother: Important To My Family

I have decided to join forces with my sister Elizabeth for the upcoming Kidney Walk in April. Instead of walking myself I am going to try and help her reach her goal of $750 - there is a widget in the right column that shows her progress. Polycystic Kidney Disease is an inherited disease - my mom, who is on dialysis, has it and my cousin and I also have it. My aunt also had it as well as another cousin - they are no longer living.

I would like to encourage you to donate to this walk. I believe a lot of people don't donate because they believe their small donation wouldn't matter much. If this is you - please know that this is not true! Small donations are also very appreciated! A group that I am part of (W@H) occasionally has what we call Dollar Drives to help raise funds for web costs, etc. - where members are asked to donate a dollar. A lot of people giving "just" a dollar can make quite a difference - and those who can give more ($5, $10, or more) do - it's very effective.
