I have found some great kitchen tips online to share with you for Works For Me Wednesday. Whenever possible, and especially if I am having guests over, I like to do as much preparation beforehand as possible. If your dessert is scoops of ice cream - and this is especially wonderful for children's birthday parties, scoop the ice cream into a muffin pan that is lined with paper liners. You can keep it in the freezer until it's time for dessert and then pop them right out into dishes.
An electric knife slices right through chilled cookie dough. You can make mini pizzas with flour tortillas just like you do with English muffins. Sealing a piece of bread in a bag with brown sugar will keep the sugar soft. Revive wilted celery in a bowl of ice water for an hour.
These are just some of my favorites - you can find tons more by doing a simple internet search. Anyone have a good way to organize jewelry without buying a box? What are your favorites?
I love the ice cream scoop idea.

Thanks for the electric knife tip! I make Angel cookies every Christmas with store-bought cookie dough chubs, but even when the dough is semi-frozen the slices tend to get misshapen.

I will definitely use the ice cream inthe muffin tin idea. Found your blog via WFMW. Glad I did.

I love kitchen hints; the tortilla mini-pizzas sound fun! My WFMW this week was in the kitchen too!
As far as jewelry, I have seen my mom use empty egg cartons and (for a prettier version) emptied chocolate boxes... all those fun little partitions. I collect amethyst glass, so I keep the jewelry I wear most in little amethyst bowls and cups and dishes on my dresser. The rest is in a drawer. Not the most organized way, but I get to enjoy 2 treasures at once! :)

Ooooooo! I love the electric knife idea! I bought mine at a garage sale years ago, and I find I use it all the time for all sorts of things, but this is a new one!
Thanks!
