As Jonathan was starting to get over his cough, William was beginning to get it. It was so rough on them during the night and it was rough on us to hear them feeling so bad. Yesterday my mom asked me if I had heard about using Vicks Vapor Rub. Why yes, the pharmacist recommended it to Dick when he was getting meds for the boys and we had been using it. That's not what she was talking about though. She said to put Vicks on the bottom of their feet at night and put socks on their feet.
Now that's more than a little strange but what could it hurt? Jonathan had already gone to sleep and his coughing was practically gone but I gave it a try with William. I think I heard him cough once towards morning time. That's just amazing! I have no idea why it works but in our cases, it did. I read about this tip again today on WFMW and thought I'd share it too with my friends. I also thought I would share about Wilmington real estate.
My dad told me about this. I tried it when I was sick a couple of weeks ago and it didn't work for me. felt good though.

Hmmm...don't know why this would work, but I have heard a lot of people say this. I think the feet would be a lot less messy than the chest. It always felt so sticky on my chest when my mom used it on me as a little kid.
I am glad that you guys are feeling better.

This one is new to me. My Gramdmother would melt vicks in a can in a pot of water then p[ut a towel over my head and have me breath in the vapors. Workes great.
We'll try it on the feet next time.

That's so weird! I just had a babysitting parent tell me to do this with her son.
It didn't seem to work, but he was SO stuffed up & just felt so bad. Poor little guy. But she swore it work for them.
Hope you all are feeling better.

This does seem to work for us most of the time. My little guy got a cough one night and it seemed to really make a difference. It sounds crazy, but it does work.
